Course Description

Web Development provides a solid foundation of technical skills that students can build upon for the rest of their careers. Students learn how to design, develop, and code interactive web products that function effectively across multiple platforms and are introduced to front-end web development.

My Experience

Throughout this class, I completed five projects, created my portfolio, and completed numerous Free Code Camp lessons. Coming into the class, I had very little knowledge of web development. In my undergraduate program, I took one technology course that taught very basic HTML. It only included creating a minimal site with the HTML boilerplate and included a heading and paragraph element. Coming out of this course, I could confidently say that I was skilled with foundational HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, WordPress ecommerce sites, and familiar with some JavaScript elements.

I was very proud of the progress I had made over this short month of learning and would be able to take this knowledge and build upon it. These skills are extremely valuable and sought after in my professional field and will ultimately expand my possibilities to include front-end development work in addition to my current communications work.
